A Day to Reset, Connect and Recharge

On Sunday, May 31, Jewish women of all ages and stages gathered in Thornhill for another beautiful Jewish Women’s Wellness Retreat. We spent the day in the most incredible rooftop event space, complete with an indoor pool, a light-filled yoga studio, a home theatre and plenty of room to learn, move, talk, eat, laugh and simply exhale.
The day was created as a pause from the noise and responsibility of everyday life. A chance to step away from everything we carry and return to ourselves, to one another and to the deeper wisdom of our Jewish souls.
We began by arriving together through meditation, grounding and reflection. Throughout the day, I taught two sessions exploring meditation as a practice and what it means to heal and reconnect with the Jewish soul. We spoke about the parts of ourselves that become hidden, tired or disconnected, and how Jewish wisdom gives us a pathway back to wholeness, belonging and purpose.
Robyn Segall led a gorgeous partner yoga class that invited us to stretch, balance, trust and support one another. There was movement, laughter and the beautiful reminder that we do not always have to hold ourselves up alone. Esther Willinger then guided us through an immersive breathwork experience using headphones, allowing each woman to turn inward and experience the power of breath, music and the body in her own way.
There was also time to swim, rest, connect and enjoy the space. We shared a delicious kosher lunch, had meaningful conversations and watched new friendships begin to form. One lucky participant even went home with a Cutco challah knife, and everyone received a beautiful swag bag filled with treats and products from HeLa Nutrition and other generous contributors.
What makes these retreats so special is not only what we do. It is what becomes possible when Jewish women come together with openness, curiosity and kind eyes. Women arrive carrying full lives, complicated stories and many different needs. For one day, we create a space where nobody has to perform, explain or have everything figured out.
We meditate. We move. We breathe. We eat. We learn. We laugh. We share honestly. We remember that wellness is not only something we pursue individually. It is something we can create together.
By the end of the day, the room felt different. We felt different. More grounded, more connected and more aware of the wisdom already living inside us.
Thank you to every woman who joined us, to our wonderful facilitators, to our generous contributors and to everyone who helped make this day possible. Each retreat reminds me why this work matters so deeply.
We all need places where we can come home to ourselves.
And sometimes, we find our way home through our sisters.
